here is how i imagine this ad campaign kicking off.
old vp: what are the kids saying these days? something about a what-what?
old vp’s assistant: absolutely, sir! it’s all about a what-what these days.
creative director: what the hell are you talking about?
OVP: and getting your groove on. that’s still fresh with the kids, right?
A: uh huh!
CD: no.
OVP: scratch the what-what idea. let’s tell the kids to get their smokey on. like get your groove on with smokey the bear. fire safety will be on all of their blurbs and facepages.
A: incredible idea, sir.
CD: that sounds like you are literally telling kids to start smoking. or advocating having sex with smokey the bear, i guess.
OVP: what? no, we are trying to get in touch with the youth. this will be all about the what-what with them.
CD: this makes no sense.
A: what-what! (raising roof with hands)
